Dot The Eye

  The band "Dot The Eye" in early 2007, originally started as a Pantera and Metallica cover band called ``Revolution``. Formed by Mike Steel and Milos Popovic (Shomie The Priest), the band went through a lot of member changes. Then in early 2009, Damian Lee Demianovich (bassist) joined the band. The band was playing a lot of live shows and keeping really busy, but the guys realized they wanted more out of the music they were playing and decided that it was time to start writing their own music. Mike, Milos and Damian knew they needed to find an awesome drummer to complete their lineup and they did, finding the drummer Djordje Stojiljkovic "Joey" and that was it - Mike Steel (lead guitar), Damian Lee Demianovich (bass), Joey (drums) and Milos Popovic Shomie (vocals) - a perfect combination for creating a new original music project known as "Dot The Eye" was born.

  In the first few years, the band mostly played Pantera songs, and gained local popularity as a Pantera tribute band. The band started working on their first original track "I Believe", recording heavy as hell riffs and grooves , perfecting the sound that you know as "Dot The Eye" today. The band then went looking for a recording studio that would fit their needs, and had been checking various studios all around Belgrade, when finally, Milos showed up with an unmixed recording of an unknown band that was made in his good friend’s studio. It had a killer professional sound and after checking it out they decided that this was the place that they wanted to record their full length album in. The studio "Studio Blaze” was selected and the band started negotiating with the head producer Milos Mihaljovic. After discussing what the band was looking to accomplish with the producer, everything was settled and the band was ready to record their first album.

  A few months later the album was finished and the band started playing gigs and introducing their songs to their fans. The fans ate it up and came away asking where they could buy the CD and merch… After a few major gigs the band made "a wrong choice, and introduced a second guitarist, George, who after a lot of time turned out to be incompetent." After firing George, the band turned to Damian’s younger brother, Vodin who, even though being much younger, had the same passion and the view towards music. After a few rehearsals, the band was very satisfied with his abilities and approach, and he was made an official member.

  Dot the Eye has played in various clubs, venues, competitions and much more… They have played in Serbia, Bosnia, Hungary, Croatia and Macedonia… Entering in competitions for the "Exit Festival", "Belgrade Beer Festival", they were also finalists in the Region for the "Wacken Open Air Festival". They have played at multiple guitar festivals around Serbia and the Balkans, the most recent one being Rockaway Lake Festival in Belgrade. They also played side by side with the biggest metal names in the region, like Eyesburn, Odd Crew, Ritam Nereda, etc. The album "Power Inside" has made a big impression within their local fan base and has also made a big impression in various regions throughout the US, United Kingdom and Europe.
