My name is Damon Von Russell. I’m originally from Claremont, NH, but I moved to Statesboro, GA in 2015. Down here, there really isn’t a lot for me to do. So, I mainly just keep to myself and focus on my interests; being music/metal of course.
I was first introduced to extreme metal through SixFeetUnder and their debut album “Haunted”. I loved every track on that album, but my favorite was always “Remains of you”.
As of now, I've been listening to a lot of Rotting Christ, Varathron, Funeral Storm, Winter Eternal, Goatmoon, Satanic Warmaster, Impaled Nazarene, Archgoat, Inquisition, Demoncy, Black Witchery, Belphegor, etc. But, my favorite band will always most likely be Deicide.
Besides my favorite bands and how I got into metal, there isn’t much to say about my life. So far, besides school, extreme metal has been the main portion of my existence. And I only enjoy my existence because of who I am; I am happy to call myself a metalhead. Extreme metal is more than just music to me, it gives me power, strength, and inspiration that fuels my hate and disgust for the reality I live in. I remember the first time I listened to Black Metal, it was obscure, dark, and full of despair. But for the most part, it had no boundaries and that’s what I enjoy most about extreme metal.
Anyways, I always wanted to do something inside the music industry, but never knew where to begin. So I figured I would just work at Linzer Products(my past job) for a long time; until I figured out what to do. But recently, new doors were opened up for me through Power BacK Booking. I was introduced to Power BacK by CEO Nygyl Bryyn Blackwolf where I joined the booking team. After my first week experience, I realized how great of a label Power BacK really was; always pushing forward and never giving up. I figured Power BacK Booking would be a job/opportunity that I’m actually interested in; something that I would enjoy doing. Especially if it means booking more shows in states/cities that need their local metal scene to be revived or boosted.
Because of this great opportunity that has been given to me; I will not give up so easy.
I do not want to make this a one time experience, but a career. That being said, my plan is to just dive into everything and learn off of experience. I know there will be times that I will fail, but I won’t let my losses bring me down; that’s how I learn and grow to become better in the music industry. All I plan on doing in order to succeed as booking agent, is “doing”; diving in and seeing things for myself.
Me and the other Power BacK Booking agents are working together to make a difference and empower your local metal scene. Bringing more entertainment your way and feeding your local bands. Even though I am fairly new to the music industry; I will still do everything I can to help, support, and bring notice to your band and your hard work. As a Power BacK Booking agent, my job is to bring power and strength to your band and local metal scene, and have your back by all means.
